WA NDIS My Way commenced on 1 July 2014. Analysis of viability is premature, however the future viability of service providers will be assessed following the trial. An independent evaluation is also being conducted over the two-year trial period, which will include feedback from service providers, to help inform sustainability and viability into the future.
There is a commitment to the ongoing monitoring and review of the WA NDIS My Way Pricing Framework, which has been developed in partnership with National Disability Services, the WA Association for Mental Health and other non-government service providers.
In addition, service providers are paid in advance for disability services provided and retain their existing partnerships and contractual relationship with the Commission in WA NDIS My Way. This approach has proved highly successful in WA and ensures the sustainability of the sector, particularly for providers who do not have the cash-flow capacity to operate in a payment-in-arrears system.
Ongoing viability is monitored by the Disability Services Commission as part of the contract management process.
