TALBOT to the Minister for Mental Health:
(1) Has the
minister seen a copy of the advice provided by the Australian Health Practitioner
Regulation Agency Australia in 2011, advising the Graylands Hospital doctor who
has been operating in contravention of the Mental Health Act that he could ''maintain
to perform the functions of a psychiatrist''?
(2) Will the minister table that advice;
and, if not, why not?
(3) Has the
minister seen a copy of the authorisation in operation between 9 September 2004
and 18 October 2010 provided by the Medical Board of WA qualifying the
Graylands Hospital doctor who has been operating in contravention of the Mental
Health Act to carry out the functions of a psychiatrist under the Mental Health
Act?
(4) Will the minister table that authorisation; and, if not,
why not?

I would like to take
this opportunity to reiterate that the doctor concerned got approval from the
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority, which is the authority
that gives approval for psychiatrists to work, and that information is
contained in one of the documents the member is about to receive. Obviously,
the doctor's name is not left on that document.
