I note that the town of Meekatharra is included in the Southern Inland Health Initiative and ask: (a) with the creation of the Northern Health Initiative in the 2013–2014 budget and Meekatharra’s inclusion in it, is Meekatharra still considered part of the Southern Inland Health Initiative; (b) if yes to (a), what is the reason for its inclusion in both initiatives; and (c) if no to (a), what is the reason for its removal from the Southern Initiative?

(a) Yes.
(b) The Murchison Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) is based in Meekatharra and remains a part of the Southern Inland Health Initiative (SIHI). The Murchison MPS includes the towns of Meekatharra, Mt Magnet, Yalgoo, Cue and Sandstone. SIHI provides operational funding only (to 30 June 2016). There are no SIHI capital funds allocated to Meekatharra.
The North West Health Initiative Business Case has nominally allocated capital funds to Meekatharra.
(c) Not applicable.
