AALEYAH CHATER —
DANCER
1148. Hon BEN DAWKINS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Culture and the Arts:
I note that from time to time the
minister acknowledges various individuals for their outstanding achievements in
various endeavours that fall within the minister's portfolio.
(1) Is the
minister aware of the achievements of Aaleyah Chater, an extraordinary young
Perth dancer and performer? Over the last eight years Aaleyah has won junior
world titles, gold medals at the Dance World Cup, at the DWC Gala Championship
and the Global Dance Open. She was also awarded a scholarship to the Broadway
Dance Centre in New York and is the youngest ever recipient of the scholarship.
(2) Will the minister consider Aaleyah's
extraordinary achievements and formally recognise her in Parliament?
