As per the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, WorkSafe WA is responsible for regulating; Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM), Radiation hazards associated with mining and mineral processing, Radiation Management Plans (RMPs), and Compliance inspections and enforcement. For the 2024-25 period, I ask : (a) How many Radiation Management Plans are there in operation in Western Australia as of 30 June 2025: (i) How many mine sites in WA have a Radiation Management Plan; and (ii) How many Defence locations in WA have a Radiation Management Plan; (b) How many Radiation Management Plans were approved in the 2024-25 year; (c) How many Radiation Management Plans have been audited in the 2024-25 year; (d) How many organisations were found to be compliant with their RMPs; (e) How many WorkSafeWA Inspectors undertook compliance on RMPs in 2024-25; (f) How many WorkSafeWA inspectors undertaking compliance on RMPs have science related university qualifications; (g) How many enforcement actions were found from the RMPs; and (h) What metrics does WorkSafeWA use to assess its own performance on radiation oversight: (i) Why aren’t those metrics publicly reported?
