MAIN
ROADS — SAFE ZONES
624. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the minister representing the
Minister for Road Safety:
I
note recent media reports that Main Roads Western Australia provides a free
service so that motorists who experience a breakdown on a major freeway can call 138 138 and have their vehicle
towed to a safe zone. I also note that social media and talkback radio comments indicate that many in the public,
myself included, were unaware of this s ervice. In light of recent
tragedies on our roads, where and how is this service currently advertised to
the public?

On behalf of the Minister for
Mental Health, I ask everybody else to check their files. I do not have the
answer to that in this file. If it comes in before the end of question time, I will
provide the answer to the member.
