HOMESWEST —
RESIDUAL-CURRENT DEVICE INSTALLATION
374. Mr F.M. LOGAN to the
Minister for Housing:
I have a supplementary question. Why is this botched RCD
program still not complete, even if it is part of the $26 million, nine years
after it started and why has no-one, either public servant or Liberal–National
minister, been held accountable for its botched implementation?

I do not know where the member for Cockburn is coming from on
this question. It is a great program.
Mr F.M. Logan : It
is all set out in the Auditor General's report. Why don't you
read it?
The SPEAKER : Member for Cockburn, I call you now to
order for the second time.
Mr W.R. MARMION :
It is a fantastic program. I support it, but it requires professional
electricians to maintain it, and they cost money.
Mr F.M. Logan interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Cockburn, I call you to order
now for the third time.
Mr W.R. MARMION :
It costs money for electricians to maintain the RCDs in our 36 000 houses.
