MENZIES POLICE STATION - OFFICER DEPLOYMENT
I note that nothing has changed since before question time. (1) Is it correct that when the two police officers from Menzies Police Station go on leave, no relief officers will be posted; and, if so, why? (2) Will the minister give a guarantee that the Menzies Police Station will not be closed; and, if not, why not? Hon JON FORD

I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Minister for Police and Emergency Services has provided the following answer - (1) Yes. A policing service delivery plan has been developed to provide policing services to the Menzies subdistrict while the officers are on leave. The plan involves deploying officers from Kalgoorlie and Leonora with consideration being given to an appropriate resource allocation on a needs basis. (2) No. There can be significant changes in communities and their demand for services over time. Therefore, police are continually reviewing and realigning police resources to ensure the most effective and responsive police services are provided to the areas of greatest need.
