(2) The Government will work to ensure that regional air services are sustainable by reviewing the subsidisation and network licensing policies on particular routes as well as government purchasing policies on interstate and international services, and taking appropriate action. To that end, the Government has established the Aviation Ministerial Council (AMC) and it is through this Council that a review of the State's aviation policy will be conducted. The policy review will need to take into account the future operations of Qantas and Skywest, the potential entry of any new operators proposing to operate scheduled intrastate services and the needs of communities throughout Western Australia. The review will also need to consider any changes to Federal aviation policy. (3) The Government will work closely with the aviation industry, the tourism industry, the resources sector, the regions and their communities to monitor the sustainability of all intrastate air services. (4) When the aviation policy review is complete the Government should be in a position to also review the level of funding to provide and maintain sustainable regional air services and to respond to expanding tourism demand. (5) The Government's objective is to see all intrastate air services maintained to a level that meets the needs of all Western Australians - there is no time limit to this objective.
