ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT — REPEAL
455. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Premier:
I
have a supplementary question. Farmers and many other industry people have
incurred expenses. Will the Premier compensate them after leading them
down the wrong path and will he publicly release the cost to taxpayers?
The SPEAKER : I will just
note that that was two supplementary questions rather than one, and that is not
what is allowed.

We will continue to make sure that
we resource this community conversation going forward, and that is why we will
be redirecting the money we had set aside for the local Aboriginal cultural
heritage services, for instance, to make sure that it can be put into the
ongoing work that we are doing to continue to bring the community together. I think everyone in the community appreciates the
conversation we are having and that we all, as a community, have an
obligation and, indeed, a desire and an aspiration to protect Aboriginal
cultural heritage, and we will continue to make sure that we assist them to do
that.
