As a supplementary question, can the minister confirm that the report has been referred to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and has not re-emerged? Mr CARPENTER

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for the supplementary question. I will not rehash it. To my knowledge, that has not happened, but I will find out for the member. Several members interjected. Mr CARPENTER: As far as I know, the report has not been finalised. Mr Barnett interjected. Mr CARPENTER: Unlike the Leader of the Opposition, I do not seek to interfere politically in the operations of my department but I know what the staff say about the Leader of the Opposition. People talk to me about the way he behaved when he was the minister. I do not interfere; nor do I act like the grand Pooh-Bah who pretends he knows nothing about what is going on in the department and lets it run rudderless, without direction, and spend millions of dollars over budget every year. I do not behave in the same way as he did and I am quite pleased about that. I will try to ascertain the correct answer to the member’s question and let him know. To my knowledge, it has not been referred to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet but, if it has, I will let the member know. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER: Order, members! Mr Barnett interjected. The SPEAKER: The Leader of the Opposition! The member for Churchlands is trying to ask a question. If members have finished their cross-Chamber interjections, perhaps she can be heard!
