I refer to the proposed new Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation sites in Geraldton, Kununurra and Perth, and I ask: (a) noting that the Geraldton project was announced in August 2020: (i) what is the expected construction start date for the Geraldton site; and (ii) by what date will the facility be operational; (b) noting that the Kununurra project was announced in August 2020: (i) what is the expected construction start date for the Kununurra site; and (ii) by what date will the facility be operational; and (c) noting that the Perth project was announced in December 2020: (i) what is the expected construction start date for the Perth site; and (ii) by what date will the facility be operational?

(a) (i-ii)
As announced on 24 January 2024, a building contract has been awarded for the Geraldton Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation and site works have now commenced.  The Geraldton Short Stay will provide a total of 44 units and will accommodate up to 100 guests.
(b) (i-ii)
A further announcement on the Kununurra Aboriginal Short Stay will be made in due course.
(c) (i-ii)
As announced in May 2023, an architect has been appointed for the design of the Perth Aboriginal Short Stay. Relevant planning processes to facilitate the development of the Perth Short Stay have recently been completed and a further announcement on the project will be made in due course.
