I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. The minister provided the following answer. (1) The East Perth power station site, which is to be the home to the new WA Museum, does not require the relocation of any Western Power facilities to facilitate the Museum development. Western Power has a 66-kilovolt switch yard immediately adjacent to the new WA Museum site, which may be moved some time in the future. The East Perth Redevelopment Authority is the planning authority for the area and is discussing medium-term options with Western Power. (2) A firm estimate of the cost to relocate the switch yard and the financial impact to Western Power is yet to be determined and will depend on the outcome of an assessment of the broader long-term network requirements resulting from the current and future development proposals for the Perth central business district, but this is not necessary as part of the Museum project.
