Hon Ken Baston questions the practice of sending juvenile offenders from the Kimberley region to custodial facilities outside the region, inquiring about the impact on rehabilitation and the availability of juvenile facilities in new or upgraded prisons. The response confirms the practice, denies improved rehabilitation chances, and states no juvenile facilities will be included due to the policy of not co-accommodating juvenile and adult offenders.
