With regard to Western Australian ports regulated under the Port Authorities Act 1999 - (1) In the recent annual reports for these ports, how many reported on their environmental management plan? (2) Are the port authorities required to report on their environmental performance in their annual report? (3) If yes to (2), will the minister table these environmental management plans? Hon M.J. (1) There is no requirement under the Port Authorities Act for a port authority to report in the annual report on its environmental management plan. (2) There is a requirement under the Port Authorities Act for a port authority to provide in the annual report a summary of the performance of the port authority on its function “to protect the environment of the port and minimise the impact of port activities on that environment” - see sections 69(1)(f) and 30(1)(f).
