CORONAVIRUS —
V-CHEK COVID-19 ANTIGEN SALIVA TEST
849. Hon JAMES HAYWARD to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the stock of V-Chek
lollipop-style rapid antigen test kits.
(1) How many V-Chek RAT kits did the
government order in total?
(2) How many V-Chek RAT kits are
still in stock, including those at electorate offices?
(3) How many of the V-Chek RAT kits
still in government possession have expired as at 1 August 2023?
(4) Did this
government mislead the people of Western Australia when it claimed it was
confident all of the RAT kits would be distributed and utilised before their
expiry date?

(1) Whole-of-government procurement
is managed by the Department of Finance.
(2) Health
Support Services does not hold any unexpired V-Chek RAT kits. The Department of
Health does not have visibility of numbers at electorate offices.
(3) A total of 2.9 million V-Chek
RAT kits have expired to date.
(4) No.
