representing the Minister for Housing:
I refer to Government Regional
Officers' Housing, or GROH.
(1) What was the total number of
GROH stock as at June 2021?
(2) What is the total waitlist for
GROH across all departments as at June 2021?
(3) For (2), will the minister
please break down into waitlists for each government department?
(4) In the absence of available
GROH stock in a particular location —
(a) what is the course of action to ensure that
government regional officers have access to a house; and
(b) what was the total cost to the
government for providing alternative accommodation options?
(5) If the
Department of Communities does not collect this data or cannot provide a response
to any of the above, why can it not do so?

(1) As of 30 June 2021, there were
a total of 5 040 GROH properties.
(2) As at 30 June 2021, there were
217 additional requests for GROH housing from client agencies.
(3) The information is in tabular
form. I seek leave to have that incorporated into Hansard .

met by allocation of vacant existing GROH stock, sourcing leases from the
private market, expressions of interest from investors or local government, and constructing and spot-purchasing
properties from the GROH capital works budget.
(b) The GROH
program is responsible for providing housing. Individual client agencies make
arrangements for any alternative accommodation required for their employees.
(5) Not applicable.
