I refer to shortages of qualified construction workers in Western Australia, and I ask: (a) how many people have enrolled in certificate or diploma level construction industry trade courses through the TAFE system each year since 2018; and (b) how many people have completed certificate or diploma level construction industry trades courses provided through the TAFE system each year since 2018?

The number of publicly funded enrolments and completions in certificate or diploma level construction industry vocational training courses each year since 2018 is provided in the table below.
Note that total enrolments and completions in a given year, or across years, cannot be compared. Due to the flexible nature of the vocational training system, including part time study options and differing course durations, it may take a student anywhere from six months to several years to complete a course.
