I refer to the advertisement that was run by the Potato Marketing Corporation on pages 2 and 3 of the West Australian on the 16 January 2015. Of the 35 different varieties of potatoes referred to in the advertisement I ask: (a) what are the names of each variety; (b) of each variety, what was the total tonnage produced in Western Australia in each of the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014; (c) of each variety, how many tonnes of each was imported from other jurisdictions, and from which jurisdiction were these tonnes imported; and (d) of each variety, what percentage did they make of the total amount of potatoes produced in Western Australia?

In line with market requirements, the Potato Marketing Corporation is transitioning from predominately white varieties led by Nadine, to yellow flesh varieties.
The rate of transition has been limited by the availability of quality seed, but is projected to pick up from 2015.
