(1) I refer to the Report of the Taskforce established to Review the Machinery of Western Australia’s Government, in particular to Recommendation 23 which states Chief Executive Officers should investigate ways to reduce corporate service costs while achieving appropriate service standards through greater sharing of corporate support services and to the Media Statement of 15 January 2001 stating that apart from the cutting of 60 chief executive and senior executive officers from the public payroll there will be no other public service job cuts and ask how are the corporate service costs to be reduced?
(2) Will the Minister give a guarantee there will be no other public service job cuts other than the 60 chief executive and senior executive officers positions?
(3) If not, why not?

Chief Executive Officers are to investigate how corporate services costs may be reduced. In cases where agencies are restructured this will be achieved without any involuntary redundancies.
