Hon Ken Travers questions the Minister for Transport regarding the percentage of boardings on the proposed MAX light rail system that will be transfers from existing Central Area Transit (CAT) services, specifically seeking a breakdown for the northern and east-west legs. The answer clarifies that MAX will replace the red CAT service and no CAT service runs on the northern alignment.

MAX LIGHT
RAIL — BOARDING TRANSFERS FROM CAT SERVICE
285. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Minister for Transport's claim last
week that approximately 50 per cent of the estimated boardings on the Metro
Area Express light rail system will be transfers from the central area transit
services.
(1) What is
the exact percentage of the estimated boardings on MAX that will be transfers
from CAT services?
(2) How many
of the transfers from CAT services would be on the northern leg from Yagan
Square to Mirrabooka?
(3) How many
of the transfers from CAT services would be on the east–west leg from
Victoria Park to Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre?
