633. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer the minister to the
establishment in March this year of ScriptCheckWA, a real-time prescription
monitoring system that aims to allow the
Department of Health to monitor data and take action on any concerning patterns
of prescribing.
(1) Will the
minister update us on the first two months of ScriptCheckWA's
operations?
(2) Will the
minister share any concerns that have been highlighted on the new system to
date, or any issues that have arisen in relation to its operation?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I note that the question was submitted on 18 May,
so the information is correct as at that date.
(1) ScriptCheckWA
was released to practitioners on 28 March 2023. As of 17 May 2023, 3 921
eligible practitioners were registered to use ScriptCheckWA, including 2 047
medical practitioners and 1 679 pharmacists. To date, over 8 000 patient
profiles have been viewed via ScriptCheckWA.
(2) No concerns or issues have been
raised with the Department of Health.
