I refer to the State Library of WA and ask how many acts of anti-social behaviour inside and outside of the building were reported for each of the years 2016-17 and 2017-18, and: (a) on how many occasions in each year were police called to help with anti-social
incidents: (i) please
list the occasions; (b) what measures have been taken to protect staff and visitors from anti-social behaviour at the library; and (c) has
any more funding been provided to the library for increased security measures: (i) if yes, please provide details of the extra funding?

(b) The State Library has zero tolerance to anti-social behaviour towards staff.
Measures taken to protect staff and visitors include:
- Employment of security guards; including an additional daytime guard from 2016-17.
- CCTV cameras installed and operational across the Library.
- Regular Training for Library staff provided, including topics such as how to handle angry customers.
- Support through policy and procedures, such as an exclusion policy for repeat serious offenders.
- Since 2018, two security guards provided by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries patrol the Cultural Centre which includes the State Library’s perimeters.
