honourable member for some notice of the question.(1)–(2) The first home owner grant (FHOG)
scheme was introduced on 1 July 2000 to offset the effect of the goods and service
tax on the cost of homes. The FHOG has remained stable since 2017 and its
impact on house prices is considered minimal.
