Griffin Coal—Consultants
1307. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for State Development:
I refer to the
government's ineffective outsourcing to find a solution to the ticking timebomb
that is the insolvent and foreign-owned Griffin Coal.
(1) What is the total that has been paid to the
following consultant firms for advice on the insolvent Griffin Coal during
2023, 2024 and to 10 December 2025:
(a) KPMG;
(b) Ad Astra Corporate Advisory;
(c) Sternship Advisers;
(d) Preston Consulting; and
(e) Ashurst?
(2) What reports have the above groups provided to
government and on what dates?
(3) How many of the reports are available for
public scrutiny, and can the minister please provide those that are?
(4) As of 10 December 2025, how many of the
aforementioned groups are still engaged by government, and have any additional
Griffin consultants, entities or advisers been engaged by the government?
