(2) Yes, through the Learning Areas of Health and Physical Education, Science and Technology and Enterprise. Many schools operate within the health promoting schools framework and promote the sale of healthy food at school canteens. (3) No, participation in the STAR Canteen Accreditation Program is voluntary. The Department is actively involved in the WA Child and Adolescent Physical Activity and Nutrition Survey 2003. The results of the survey will be used to inform future planning in these areas.
