Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to EnergyAustralia being the
first customer to sign up to buy gas from Port Kembla in New South Wales, which is to be operated by a joint venture called
Australian Industrial Energy consisting of Japan's JERA Co Inc and
Marubeni Corporation, and mining magnate Andrew Forrest's Squadron
Energy. Has the government held any talks with Squadron Energy or AIE to
ship Western Australian gas to the east coast?
