FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES AUTHORITY —
AUSTRALIND FIRE STATION
725. Hon ADELE
FARINA to the minister representing the Minister for Emergency Services:
I refer to the proposed Australind career fire and rescue
station.
(1) Where is it proposed to build the station, and has land
acquisition for the station been finalised?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) What are the expected start and completion dates for the
construction of the station?
(4) Will the
allocation of firefighters at the Australind station be over and above the
current allocation of firefighters at the Bunbury career fire and rescue
station?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1)–(4)
A preferred site for the construction of a career fire and rescue station in
Australind had been identified in the Australind Industrial Estate on Paris
Road, and a contract was entered into with the developer of the site in
November 2010. The developer of the site was placed in receivership and the
terms of the contract prevented the Fire and Emergency Services Authority from
selecting an alternative site until after the contract expired in June 2012.
Further planning is continuing on construction timing and allocation of
resources.
