I refer to a whale carcass that washed up on the beach at Wyadup, and I ask: (a) how decomposed was the whale carcass when the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) were first made aware of it on 19th August 2018; (b) what was the cost of removing the whale carcass via a water jet and suction device; and (c) was manual retrieval by commercial fishers considered as an option and if yes, what reasons were given as to why this is option was not pursued?
