CORAL BAY —
FUEL SERVICE
967. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Tourism:
(1) Is the
minister aware that from February 2014 there will be no operational fuel
service station in Coral Bay?
(2) How does
the minister anticipate that visitors to Coral Bay will get access to fuel to
enable travel around the area and to provide support to the local tourist
economy in the midwest region?
(3) What does
the minister intend to do to ensure that a vital fuel service is offered to
locals and visitors to Coral Bay from February?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1)–(3)
Continuity of fuel supplies is outside the minister's portfolio
responsibilities; however, the minister is concerned about any potential impact
on the state's tourism industry. I understand the Shire of Carnarvon is
dealing with the matter in an appropriate and responsible manner, and is
working towards achieving a solution by February 2014.
