SOCIAL
WORKERS — WEST METROPOLITAN POLICE YOUTH LIAISON OFFICE
763. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH to
the Attorney General representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to the employment of three qualified social workers
working with the west metropolitan police youth liaison office via a 12-month
grant from the strategic crime prevention division, with the grant due to cease
today.
(1) Will the
three current social workers employed on establishing the community care unit
in October 2012 continue to be funded to work with prolific and priority
offender youth in the Mirrabooka region; and, if not, why not, given the
success of the program?
(2) If yes to (1), for how long?
(3) If no to (1),
how does the WA Police service intend to ensure that the west metropolitan
youth liaison office can ensure that prolific and priority offender youth in
the west metropolitan region have ongoing one-to-one case management?
