AUTHORISED RESTRAINTS
982. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the Attorney
General representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
(1) How many
times in 2014, 2015 and 2016 to date did the CEO of the Department of
Corrective Services or a superintendent authorise the restraint of a young
offender?
(2) In each case —
(a) which facility was involved;
(b) was the restraint used to —
(i) prevent the young offender from
injuring himself or herself, or any other person; or
(ii) for medical reasons; or
(iii) to prevent the escape of a young
offender;
(c) was the restraint used for a continuing
period of more than 24 hours; and
(d) did the restraint involve the use
of medication?
