I refer to the Liberal Party’s 2008 election commitment contained in the document
Government Accountability and Public Sector Management
, and in particular the statement to review the manner in which Departments are administrating the Freedom of Information (FOI) process to ensure that Government is accountable and open in accordance with the spirit of the FOI Act. I ask:
(a) in respect of each agency that comes within the Minister’s control, has this review been conducted;
(b) who conducted the review for each agency;
(c) when was the review completed in each agency;
(d) what was the result of the review in each agency; and
(e) will the results of the review be tabled?

The Information Commissioner conducted a review about the manner in which Western Australian State and local government agencies administer the freedom of information (FOI) process. The FOI Review report was tabled in Parliament on Wednesday, 8 September 2010 tabled paper no: 2455. The full report, a summary version of the report and the media statement advising of the reports release are available on the Office of the Information Commissioner's website (
