GINDALBIE METALS LTD — NUCLEAR WASTE DUMP
613. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the minister
representing the Minister for Lands:
(1) Did the minister have a meeting
with Gindalbie Metals Ltd at any time in the past 12 months?
(2) If yes to
(1), was the proposed nuclear waste dump on Badja station in the Shire of
Yalgoo a topic of discussion?
(3) Has the
minister expressed support in any way for the proposed nuclear waste dump on
Badja station in the Shire of Yalgoo via correspondence with Gindalbie Metals
or the federal government?
(4) Given the
proposal is in direct contradiction to the Nuclear Waste Storage and
Transportation (Prohibition) Act 1999, enacted by the Liberal Party, will the
government support this proposal?
(5) If yes to
(3), was the matter discussed with the Premier prior to that support being
given; and, if so, when was it discussed?

Metals approached him at an event in Morawa on 30 April 2015.
(2) Yes.
(3) No.
(4) This would be
a matter for government consideration in light of feedback from the local
community and the traditional owners of the land.
