I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Corrective Services.
The Department of Justice advises —
(1)–(4) Since 2017, the Western Australian government has
held discussions with the Aboriginal Advisory Council of Western Australia on youth justice matters
during meetings in June and December 2022 and in February and August
2023. In addition to attending the council's August 2023 meeting,
Minister Papalia has twice met with an AACWA
subcommittee to provide specific updates on youth justice, Banksia Hill and
unit 18.
