TOODYAY BUSHFIRE — ENERGYSAFETY REPORT
As a supplementary question, will the Premier apologise for the government’s lack of coordination and rigour in the investigation, which has exacerbated Toodyay residents’ uncertainty and distress? Mr C.J. BARNETT

EnergySafety undertook the investigation, as it should have. Other agencies contributed to that investigation. It seems from reports that some further evidence became available and it has been considered. I find it as frustrating as, I am sure, the people directly affected by the fire that we did not have a clear, conclusive first report. That is the reality; it did not happen. But, true to the word of this government, when further evidence arose, it was investigated. I, more than anyone, want to see a conclusive, factual report and result. The one thing I will not do, particularly on an issue as important as this, is interfere with the investigative process; I simply will not do that.
