I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided on behalf
of the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(3) The
Department of Transport has, in recent years, installed additional CCTV and
automatic numberplate recognition cameras to deter hooning within the Hillarys
Boat Harbour precinct. The roads surrounding Hillarys Boat Harbour, including
Whitfords Avenue and Hepburn Avenue, are local roads under the care and control
of the City of Joondalup. Advice regarding traffic calming or pedestrian
facilities should be sought from the council. The city has not approached Main
Roads about any proposed pedestrian facilities or paths along this section of
the road in the last three years.
