(a) - (w) The Water Corporation does not record the cost/kilolitre of water on a quarterly basis by each water source supplying the metropolitan area.
The costs which are incurred in supplying water incorporate capital and operating costs relating to the water sources and the infrastructure to transport, treat and measure water from the source to end use consumers. Average allocation of costs can be attributed to each source.
The average costs for the Perth Integrated Water Supply Scheme are:
Desalination
Groundwater Replenishment
Groundwater
Surface water
Cost/kilolitre
>$2.20
>$2.20
<$1
<$1
Note: The actual amount of water available from dams varies across the years.
