I thank the member for some notice of the question. (1)-(3) The state government’s hardship assistance package has been developed in response to a recently identified need for hardship assistance from local government and community agencies operating in Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun. This assistance will be on top of the existing support in financial counselling and crisis care provided through the workers assist hotline and government agencies. The government is currently negotiating delivery of this assistance through an existing non-government agency with experience in supporting families and individuals in hardship in the region. This will ensure that the help provided is confidential, professionally managed and provided with a holistic care approach. This will include an assessment of the extent to which individuals and families are in hardship. I am happy to provide further details on delivery of this assistance once arrangements are finalised. This information was accurate as at 19 March.
