I thank the Hon Murray Criddle for the question. (1)-(3) No, I did not announce the closure of the northern fisheries. I announced an assessment of those fisheries that were being impacted on by the illegal fishing activity in the north west. Those fisheries are the north coast shark fishery, the trochus fishery and the northern demersal scale fish fishery. I was advised today that the report on that should be back with me within two weeks. I asked the department to tell me why I should not shut those fisheries down to apply a precautionary principle. That is my answer. As soon as I get that response, I am happy to bring that response to the department.
