In respect of the locations which were covered by both the Country High School Hostels Authority (CHSHA) and the Redress Western Australia schemes, being the list of locations indicated in the Minister’s answer on 24 June 2014 to question on notice No. 1219, can the Minister please advise: (a) how many successful applicants in respect of these institutions identified in their CHSHA application as an Aboriginal person; (b) how many successful applicants in respect of these institutions identified in their Redress application as an Aboriginal person; (c) in relation to the amounts paid out to successful applicants to CHSHA what was the total amount paid to: (i) those who identified as Aboriginal; (ii) those who identified as a non-Aboriginal person; and (iii) unspecified / other; and (d) what was the average payment paid to: (i) those who identified as Aboriginal; (ii) those who identified as a non-Aboriginal person; and (iii) unspecified / other?

(a) Applicants to the Country High School Hostels (CHSH) Ex-Gratia Scheme were not asked to identify whether they were an Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal person, hence this information was not collected.
(b) There were twelve successful CHSH Scheme applicants who also received Redress WA payments. Of these seven identified as Aboriginal.
(c)(i)-(iii) See (a) above.
(d)(i)-(iii) See (a) above.  The 90 successful CHSH Scheme applicants received average payments of $34 000 each.
