All students who are enrolled in a government school are enrolled as full-time students.
However, some students with a disability may attend school less than full time because of specific documented plans that are in place. In all cases reduced attendance must be approved as part of an individual documented plan.
The most common reason is a temporary step to facilitate a transition to full-time schooling in a mainstream class.
Often students may require therapy or treatment outside of the school as part of a broader health/treatment plan.
These temporary arrangements are agreed between the school, parents/caregivers and other stakeholders working with the family.
As at June 2014, 201 students had such temporary arrangements in place and 5,767 students were attending mainstream government schools on a full-time basis.
