(1) Kelmscott Senior High School is running Stage 1A/B Applied Information Technology and Stage 1A/B Design Photography, which is a Digital Photography course, for Year 11 in 2014. The school also runs a Certificate II in Business, which has an information technology focus.
(2) For 2014, Stage 2A/B Applied Information Technology and Stage 2A/B Computer Science were offered for Year 11 students. Only two students selected Stage 2A/B Applied Information Technology and six students selected Stage 2A/B Computer Science. These numbers were not viable. At the time of course selection, the Design and Technology Learning Area assessed that there was insufficient demand for Stage 2 Design Technical Graphics and recommended that only Stage 1 be offered.
(3)-(4) Certificate II Information, Digital Media and Technology was offered and attracted a viable numbers of students. However, a change had to be made before the timetable was completed because the teacher who was going to take the course had not completed all the necessary qualifications as designated by TAFE and the Registered Training Organisation to deliver the course. When the school became aware of this, a Certificate II in Business with an information technology focus was offered in its place.
