(1) Is it correct that the most recent environmental review of the Kwinana International Motorplex reiterates the view of Bulletin 948 from the Environmental Protection Authority that the Government needs to take early action to change the residential status of Hope Valley to achieve a substantial reduction in the level of impact from noise on the community? (2) As a significant number of people still living in Hope Valley suffer from unacceptable levels of noise from the motorplex, what action will be taken by the Minister for the Environment to alleviate this problem? The Minister for the Environment has provided the following reply - (1) Yes. (2) The Environmental Protection Authority released its report entitled “Kwinana International Motorplex - Review of Noise Management Plan and potential Change to Environmental Conditions relating to noise management” on 8 December 2003. This report is publicly available and currently open to appeal closing on 22 December 2003. I will be in a position to consider the content of this report after determination of any appeals that may be received.
