Mr. Papalia questions the Department of Corrective Services regarding the availability of data on amphetamine prescriptions for detainees and the underspend on offender programs in 2007-2008. The Department cites a lack of electronic records before April 2009 as the reason for data inaccessibility and acknowledges a $2.8 million underspend.

(1) Before 1 April 2009, all health records for adult offenders and detainees have not been electronically recorded. The information is not readily available as it requires manual extraction of data from individual's medical records.
(2) During the 2007-2008 financial period there was an underspend of $2.8 million for the provision of programs to adult offenders in the community and in custody.
