7 days
(a) Following the detection of Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) in tomatoes in South Australia (SA), the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) introduced interim measures to quarantine all consignments of tomato fruit from the infected properties upon arrival in Western Australia (WA).
On 12 September 2024, DPIRD published emergency restrictions on the import of fruit, seedlings and seeds of tomatoes, capsicum and chilli to minimise the risk of spread of the ToBRFV to WA.
Potential carriers of the virus from SA may only enter WA where they are:
·         not from an infected property or associated with an infected property
·         certified by the SA Government as tested in accordance with an approved protocol
·         found free from ToBRFV or grown and packed on an approved pest free place of production.
