637. Hon RICK MAZZA to the minister representing the
Minister for Fisheries:
Can the minister please advise —
(1) How many
fishing boat licences in unmanaged Western Australian fisheries have been
repurchased under the fisheries adjustment scheme?
(2) How many
fishing boat licences in unmanaged WA fisheries have been subject under the
fisheries adjustment scheme to —
(a) act-of-grace
payments;
(b) acquired
subject to confidentiality agreements; and
(c) any other
buyback schemes?

thank the member for the question. The following information has been provided
to me by the Minister for Fisheries.
(1) In the last 10 years, seven fishing boat licences
in unmanaged fisheries have been surrendered and compensated.
