I refer to the Western Foreshore in Mandurah, and I ask: (a) have any anthropological heritage assessments, particularly those inclusive of registered sites and culturally sensitive matters such as women's business, been undertaken; (b) if yes to (a), when did this occur and what were the findings of these assessments; and (c) if no to (a), why not and is there any plans to undertake an anthropological heritage assessment and when will this occur?

(a) The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is aware of an Aboriginal heritage survey for the proposed Port Mandurah Housing Development Project, Halls Head dated January 1995 and a report for the Old Mandurah Traffic Bridge Replacement in 2014. The Department is not aware of any further Aboriginal heritage surveys specifically for this location.
(b) Not applicable.
(c) Gnarla Karla Bodja Aboriginal Corporation (GKBAC) lodged an application on 23 November 2025 with the Department for funding through the Aboriginal Heritage Survey Program (AHSP) for a survey of the Mandurah western foreshore area. An application for the AHSP for the Mandurah western foreshore area has also been received on 26 November 2025 from a member of the Strong Women’s Group. Both applications will be reviewed, however, only one application will be funded for the same area.
