In reference to CO2e emissions and commercial and non commercial flights in Western Australia, I ask -
(1) Does the Department have figures for the C02e released from plane flights within Western Australia?
(2) If yes to (1), what are those figures?
(3) If no to (1), -
(a) why not; and
(b) why are these figures not acquired or kept to enable CO2e levels to be attributed to Western Australia?
(4) Does the Department keep records of the kilometres flown within Western Australia?
(5) If yes to (4), what are those figures?
(6) If no to (4), why not?
(7) If no to (4), why are these figures not acquired or kept to enable CO2e levels to be attributed to Western Australia?

(1)-(7) No. Aircraft emissions are regulated under the Commonwealth Air Navigation (Aircraft Engine Emissions) Regulations.
Airlines that exceed thresholds set out in the
National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007
report their greenhouse gas emissions annually to the Commonwealth Government's Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. This information is reported on at a national level, not at State level.
