MINISTER FOR REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT — ENERGY MADE CLEAN
262. Mr D.T. REDMAN to the Premier:
I refer to reports that the Minister
for Regional Development received cash payments whilst employed as a business
development manager for Energy Made Clean in 2011–12.
(1) When was the
Premier first made aware that the minister received cash payments of up to $30 000
as a business development manager for Energy Made Clean?
(2) Does the
Premier think that this information would have been relevant to the minister's
involvement in handling the Albany wave energy project?
(3) Was the
interest declared in the minister's ministerial declaration?

(1)–(3) I
read the story online this morning. As far as I can tell, the allegation is
that the Minister for Regional Development had a part-time job eight years ago
for a different company from the one that the contract was issued to the year
before last. That is the allegation. I mean, it is pathetic. To try to draw a connection
between a role she had for a different company eight years ago with a contract
that was issued in 2017 to another company for another matter is bizarre and
ridiculous. It is extraordinary and it is embarrassing that the member would
even raise it.
